Cambridge Ohio Area

Make sure you ride the train in Byesville, it's very educational about the coal mining industry, and though it's a short ride, it was still fun. Drive up. North 77 to exit 83 and turn left, it'll take you to "Amish" country. Make sure you eat at Der Dutchman, it's wonderful! The homemade potpie is soooo worth the wait! Yum! You can also drive west to Zanesville and ride on the Lorena Sternwheeler. We did a dinner cruise, and it was nice. The sternwheeler is very dated, but it was still a pretty and relaxing ride. Francis Family Restaurant in Cambridge is very reasonable and tasty! We love breakfast there! It's on Wheeling Ave, across from Rite Aid. Oh, and if you like donuts/pastries, you absolutely HAVE to go to Kennedy's Bakery across from Francis Family restaurant, behind the Rite Aid. I have NEVER had better donuts! And my birthday cake this year was from there too and at 42, I can say it was definitely the best ever! :) There are lots and lots of pottery shops along I-70 to check out. There is almost always something going on in the area, whether it's a farmers market, a pumpkin festival....and the campground has something going on almost every weekend during the summer. Oh, and if you have pets and need to board them for any reason, or just need a doggy day out, make sure you check out the Rhinestone Doggy about a 1/4 mile south at exit 164 (I-70). This has been a neat place to visit and I hope you have a great time while you are here! :)
