Expert Advice

  • Coloring the Palette - She looks over my left shoulder, focused on something undefined in the distance. I stare at her, transfixed. Her hair is a wild tumble of maroon, swirling around her head. An uncontrollable strand arcs down between her eyes and tickles her left cheek. She says nothing and does not move. I am smitten, enchanted, benumbed. Her eyes have captured me, though they have not even glanced my way. • Exploring Black Canyon - When peering into the belly of Colorado’s newest national park, visitors are in awe of what took the Gunnison River 2 million years to create. Drop by drop, the river relentlessly gouged its way through 2,700 feet of solid rock. It easily cut through the upper layer of soft volcanic rock, but as the canyon deepened, the river reached the older and harder crystalline rock that forms the inner core of the canyon.
  • Shifting Sands - A dry wind blows across Colorado’s San Luis Valley. Tiny grains of sand tumble and roll in the wind and tumble and roll some more until they finally roll up against the towering Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
